Our School

The Georgetown School flag on poleThe Georgetown School is a specialized learning center serving students in grades 6–12 who require academic and/or behavioral enrichment in order to be successful in the school setting. By fostering a community of respect, responsibility, and perseverance, we empower students to work up to their full potential and become positive contributors to the community. Our safe and secure learning environment meets the individual needs of students through small class size, flexible academic planning, and opportunities for character enrichment, leadership, and stewardship. For many students, we are the reason they stay in school.

The Georgetown School offers a middle school, high school, and the ISAEP program for school-aged students who receive a recommendation to Georgetown from their home middle or high school. The Georgetown Leadership Team then determines if our environment will meet the students' needs.

Middle School

The middle school program serves students in grades six through eight. Students attend four core classes every day. On “A” days, students end their day in Exploratory or Resource, and on “B” days, students end their day in physical education.

High School

Our high school program has a traditional A/B schedule. Many students take an elective at The Hanover Center for Trades and Technology. Other electives are taken online using the Edgenuity program.

Individual Student Alternative Education Plan (ISAEP)

The Individual Student Alternative Education Plan (ISAEP) program serves students ages 16 to 18 who are currently enrolled in high school programs and have difficulty finding success in a regular classroom environment. ISAEP programs are located in school divisions and funded through a combination of state grants and local funds. Many, but not all, school divisions provide program services. Students may re-enroll in a regular classroom environment at any time.

Enrollment Requirements:

  • Initial Principal-Parent Student (PPS) meeting
  • 7.5 grade equivalent score on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) in Reading and Math
  • Achieve a score of at least 130 on each of the subtests of the GED Ready Official Practice Test
